The View From Here

This is usually the view from my backdoor.

There's a fun play area and lots of room for me to run around. Last month, the view from my backdoor looked a little different....

Yep. That's a goat in my yard.
This is Trudy Beatrice, or Trudy B. as Mama and Aunt K. called her, or Dinner as our friends who we were keeping her for called her.
Here is what we learned from our goat keeping experience:
1. Goats are social animals. Never have just one.
2. Goats are stupid. They will get stuck in fences, BBQ grills and wrapped around trees to the point that they almost choke to death.
3. Goats run really fast when they don't want to be caught. Too bad I didn't get pics of Mama chasing Trudy down the street. It.Was.Hilarious.
4. Goat horns hurt when you get head-b
utted. They hurt every time.
5. Goats taste DEEEEEEEELICIOUS when they are cooked, smoked, boiled and stuffed.
Here is Trudy on the last ride of her short life....

Thank you, friends for the excellent learning experience in goat-keeping. Mama says she will never have a goat. Maybe two..... but not one. And Trudy, we shall miss you.

You had a GOAT! Man, we're missing all sorts of fun. Why did the goat have a name if it was going to be eaten? Poor goat.

Mama and Aunt K. feel that every animal should be properly named, even if their lifespan is very short. Love the eyeball, by the way :)

That seems...just wrong! We don't blog about future suppers, while they are living with us!!

More baby pics please. I've been slacking on blogging and blog reading...but yours was the one I chose to look at first. Sis is adorable...your house looks huge and beautiful. More mommy and baby pics needed...
